LONDON Newcastle United's French defender Alain Goma has asked for a transfer, according to the English Premier League club's Website.
Goma has been in impressive form for Bobby Robson's side this season and was voted the club's Player of the Month in October, but the 28-year-old France international has missed their last two games with a calf injury.
Goma joined Newcastle in July 1999 from Paris St. Germain for 4.75 million pounds ($6.75 million).
